Open Year-Round - Come Hang Out With Us!

Located at 150 N Indiana Ave, in downtown Kankakee, the RecCenter offers a full gymnasium with open gym for youth, teens, adults and family time.

The Charlton Room seats 150 people banquet style or 200 people theater style and offers a full use kitchen. This multipurpose room can be used for meetings, baby showers, wedding receptions, retirement parties, corporate events, seminars and so much more!

Open Gym Schedule

Meet new people and stay active during one of our basketball Open Gym sessions! A minimum of 10 players with a maximum of 40 players per session.

Family Open Gym (13+)

• Saturdays - 1:00-4:00 pm

First Responders Open Gym

• Fridays - 9:00-11:00 am

• Family - Residents and Non-Residents - $5
• First Responders - Non-Resident - $3 Resident - FREE

Introduction to Mindful Movement

Join us for a gentle introduction to mindful movement. In this class, you'll learn basic stretching and breathing techniques to enhance flexibility, balance, and relaxation.

• Saturdays - 9:30-10:30 am
• $10 per class or four class membership for $35

Pickleball Schedule

If you love tennis, you'll love Pickleball! This fun sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, all wrapped up in one fun game. Senior Open Gym Pickleball is for ages 55+.

Tuesdays

• Senior Pickleball - 1:00-3:00 pm
• All Ages Pickleball - 4:00-8:00 pm

Saturdays

• All Ages Pickleball - 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Fees

• Residents and Non-Residents - $5
• Punch Card - 10 visits for $40

Please note: Due to the election, there will be NO open pickleball on Tuesday, April 1 at the KVPD Rec Center. There will also be NO open pickleball or open gym on Saturday, April 12 due to a pickleball tournament.
